Prayers for Lillian

As you all may know, our fellow freshman Lillian Chason is on life support at UNC Hospitals from complications with the H1N1 virus. She has been undergoing treatment since Nov. 20, and I can honestly say, she is a true fighter. There is currently a facebook group titled "Prayers for Lillian" with over 3,000 members supporting our fellow tarheels battle. I'm sending prayers out to her family and her for a speedy recovery. Continue to pray and stay hopeful. Like her mother Cate said, "There's a change for the better that is profound, yet difficult to explain."

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.

—Isaiah 43:1-2

  1. It's really scary that H1N1, which is considered less dangerous than the normal flu(in terms of safety), is fighting her so hard. I hope she recovers soon, and is able to return to normal life.

  2. I actually had no idea this was happening, so thank you for the piece of information. I can't believe this virus is taking so much from her body, and I hope she gets better soon.. it must be really hard on her family and friends to deal with her being perfectly fine, and then being on life support. It's very scary to think that any of us could have been in her shoes.

  3. This is so sad. I really hope she will be okay and I will pray for her. I have heard that most people who get the swine flu are fine after a few days, but that there have been some serious complications in a small percentage of the population who have gotten swine flu.

  4. I was so shocked about this. I can't believe how serious H1N1 can be. I've been checking daily to see how she's doing. My thoughts are with her family.
