Cocaine at Carolina
I recently read an article in The Daily Tarheel about five UNC (current and former) students who were arrested for possession of cocaine. It was said that they had "197.6 grams of cocaine" on them combined. When I read this article, the first question that popped into my head was do they really value their education? UNC is one of the top public schools in the nation and it's almost as if they are throwing away a perfectly good education and future. As a current Freshman at UNC, I value my education just like most of the students here, but there are a select few everywhere that waste their potential making poor decisions such as the one those five students made. That decision will probably affect them the rest of their lives. What a shame.

I agree 100%. It is a shame that UNC has to be associated with the poor decisions that these select individuals made. They will regret this decison for the rest of their lives.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, it makes me sick to see people throw away their education when I value being here so much. I think another question should be brought up....what about heir families? As a person whose family has had to deal with similar issues, it is just awful to see the selfish ways of these students tear up their school, their friends, and their families. Hopefully, I'm praying, this will be the wake up call they need to bring them out of their life-ruining addiction.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand is how you could spend so much money on something so dangerous and so stupid! There are so many other ways that you could spend the thousands of dollars that were wasted here on drugs.
